Epson Vs Canon

Aesthetics have recently become one of the key features of any product. If the device packs a class leading hardware and still comes in a dreary looking form factor, it may never attract many customers. With that being said, the Epson L565 printer measures 484 x 377 x 226 mm in dimensions and weighs about 6.2kgs. Canon Pixma G4000 on the other hand is marginally smaller in size and measures 445 x 330 x 197mm, however the printer is about a kilogram heavier than the Epson L565.

Features and Speed

Boasting Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi direct connectivity, the Epson L565 can connect with up to 4 devices at a time without the use of a router. It also features mobile printing and Ethernet connectivity. With the Epson iprint, a user can scan and print directly to their online cloud storage or smart device.


The Canon Pixma G4000 is an updated version of the last years Pixma G3000 printer. It’s also an all-in-one printer, hence it can print, copy, scan and fax. The printer comes with a 20-page ADF with a similarly sized display as the one packed on the Epson L565, however is positioned on top of the printer body. It has a comparatively lower fax capacity of 50-pages and packs a flatbed type scanner with a fully functional control panel also placed on the upper side. The Pixma G4000 can print at a speed of upto 8.8ipm in monochrome and 5.0ipm in color.

Along with WiFi and WiFi direct, Canon Pixma G4000 can also be used with Mopria, Google Cloud Print, PIXMA Cloud Link and Canon PRINT Inkjet / SELPHY (for ios and Android users).

Cost and Efficiency

As for cost, each ink bottle of the Epson L565 costs Rs.320 and can yield upto 7,500 pages for color and upto 4,500 pages in monochrome. Epson claims the cost to about 7paise, 18paise for black and color, respectively.

The Canon Pixma G4000 on the other hand can yield upto 7000 color prints and upto 6000 monochrome prints. Cost per ink bottle is comparatively higher at Rs.499. Per page cost for color is still higher at about 33paise.
