Micromax Bharat 5 Launches in India with 5MP Bokeh Camera and 5000mAh Battery

Home grown smartphone maker Micromax has launched another budget phone in its Bharat series. The company announced its latest Bharat 5 smartphone on Friday highlighting its 5000mAh battery. The Micromax Bharat 5 is priced at Rs.5555 and will be available to buy with offline retailers in the country. Micromax announced the product in partnership with Vodafone and also said that the company will announce more smartphones in its Bharat series. It is planning to announce the Bharat 5 Plus and Bharat 5 Pro in coming two months.

Commenting on the launch, Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer, Micromax Informatics, said “Bharat 5 like its predecessors will truly drive the next phase of smartphone adoption in the country, as a smartphone with 5000mAh battery is pivotal for a market like India where the tier 3-4 cities still face severe power outage issues.”

Micromax Bharat 5 Specifications

The dual-SIM Micromax Bharat 5 runs on Android 7 Nougat operating system, and sports a 5.2-inch HD display, just like the one fitted on its predecessor. It is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage, expandable via a micro SD upto 64GB.

The Micromax Bharat 5 features 5-megapixel camera on the front as well as at the back, both featuring LED flash modules.

Connectivity options on the Micromax Bharat 5 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and a Micro-USB port.

The Micromax Bharat 5 is backed by a 5000mAh battery which the company claims could last the phone for upto 2days in regular use and a standby time of 3 weeks.

Micromax Bharat 5- Offers

The Micromax Bharat 5 will be available to buy via offline stores in the country at Rs.5555. The company says any new or existing Vodafone customer will get a 1GB data pack with an additional 10GB of data a month for 5 months – totalling up to 50GB of additional data.
