Samsung quietly added another J-series smartphone to its arsenal of budget smartphones. The 2017 edition of the latest J-series budget smartphone is now listed on company’s website without a price tag. Although the price of the smartphone is still unclear, a popular Mumbai-based offline retailer Mahesh Telecom has claimed that the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) is priced at Rs. 7,390. So far we can only tell that we’ll have to wait for sometime to get the pricing and the availability of the product both whether online or offline.
The Samsung website has a “Where to buy” option, which is currently disabled. However, a popular Mumbai-based offline retailer Mahesh Telecom has claimed that the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) has been launched, and is priced at Rs. 7,390.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) is being touted to come equipped with a new Smart Manager features for automatic memory management that will help delete duplicate images on the device automatically, and also delete saved APK files. The smartphone also comes packed with an Ultra Data Saving mode that the company claims can help users save up to 50 percent data.
Talking about the specifications of the smartphone, the Android-based Galaxy J2 (2017) features a 4.7-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) Super AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos chipset coupled with 1GB of RAM. The handset features 8GB of inbuilt storage out of which only 4.3GB is user accessible. It further supports expandable storage via microSD card of up to 128GB.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy J2 (2017) sports a 5-megapixel rear that comes with autofocus, flash, and a 2-megapixel front camera.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 is a dual-SIM handset and supports USB on-the-go (USB OTG). As for connectivity, it comes with 4G, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass, and 3.5mm audio jack. Lastly, the handset is backed by a 2000mAh removable battery and will be available in Metallic Gold and Absolute Black color variants.
